Behind the Scenes

Chewing the Scenery

The fun of having CGI sets is apparent in this epidose. After building a science lab that is part of an orbiting space station for Patti Negri's appearance (What About White Magic), a few walls were knocked down and an arcade was added to the Science Lab for Scott's guest spot.

Orb Man

In addition to being a past-life regressionist, Scott is a talented guitarist and singer in a classic rock band. During the show, Scott talks about one night at a gig, whispering a prayer to Ronnie James Dio before the next song began, and the ensuing "orb" encounter he had during the performance. Days later, a woman who had attended the show sent Scott a picture she had snapped during the song. When Jonathan saw the photo, he dubbed Scott with the superhero moniker, "Orb Man" and added a video game of the same name to the arcade in honor of the rock and roll incident.

The Pirate Incident

Jonathan shares a lucid dream he had as a boy in which he answers a time-travel alarm involving 18th-centery pirates along the southern coast of England. Jonathan uses CGI to animate the scene and opens his novel, Ram I Am, with the harrowing events.
